About the Event

The recital “Romances” brings together two well-known figures of Curitiba's music scene: pianist Olga Kiun and soprano Ornella de Lucca. With a rare repertoire seldom heard in Brazil, the program explores works by Mikhail Glinka, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, celebrating the 186th anniversary of the Russian composer's birth, on May 7. The program includes celebrated pieces such as Rachmaninoff's “Vocalise”, the “Dumka” for solo piano, and Tatiana's Letter Scene from Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin. “Romances” is dedicated to the memory of Liana Justus, a great promoter and educator in the field of classical music.
