Capela da Glória - Curitiba, PR
Artists
André Schmidt and Ornella de Lucca are joined by mezzo-soprano Luiza Girnos and violinist Juliane Weingartner in a special recital of ten Ave Marias celebrating the Festa da Glória and the Assumption of Mary.
About the Event
From the Romanticism of Schubert and Gounod to contemporary composers, the Ave Maria has inspired musicians across centuries and countries. On August 15, the story of these works comes together in Curitiba. At the traditional Festa da Glória, the historic Capela da Glória (built in 1896) hosts a unique recital: ten settings of the “Ave Maria” performed in sequence, revealing how the same prayer has passed through generations of classical music.
